Joel Kelso joins GRYD MLav Racing for 2026

 In NEWS

We are delighted to announce that Joel Kelso will join GRYD MLav Racing for the 2026 Moto3 season. The Australian rider has signed a two-year deal and will race in our colours as he enters his fifth season in the World Championship.

Having Kelso on board is a major step forward for the team, as he brings not only proven speed and experience, but also the determination of a front runner eager to keep progressing at the highest level. His arrival underlines our long-term commitment to strengthening the project.

Since making his full-time debut in Moto3 in 2022, Kelso has accumulated 74 races starts, 4 podiums finishes, and 1 pole position, establishing himself as an experienced and consistent competitor in the World Championship.

That debut season saw him achieve his best result of 8th place at his home Grand Prix in Phillip Island (Australia), a circuit where he would go on to secure his maiden podium the following year in 2023. Last season, Kelso finished ninth in the overall standings and claimed his first pole position in Thailand.

It has been this year, however, where the Australian has truly stepped up, securing three podium finishes — in Austin, Jerez and Le Mans— and climbing to sixth place in the World Championship with 132 points to date.

JOEL KELSO: Overall, I’m really excited to be joining this team and to help accelerate the project. I can’t wait to get started and to deliver strong and consistent results. It’s a new challenge on the Honda, which I believe will be a great experience. I’m pleased to have my future secured for the next two years,  and I’m looking forward to working hard with the team to build this project up.

THE TEAM: We are very pleased to welcome Joel to GRYD MLav Racing for 2026. He is a highly experienced rider and a proven front runner in the Moto3 World Championship, and having him on board is truly great news for the whole team.

Joel not only brings valuable experience and speed, but also a natural connection with us as part of the Commonwealth and as a fellow English speaker. We are confident that together we can achieve great results and continue to move forward.
