The final race of the 2023 Moto3 World Championship before summer break was in the Netherlands at the TT Circuit Assen. This weekend was filled with hot conditions and stands filled with enthusiastic fans.

Friday started strong for both Scott Ogden and Joshua Whatley. Ogden was only two tenths of a second behind the top time and placed 20th on the combined practise times. Whatley was only a second and a half behind the front runner and was placed in 24th position.

On Saturday, the qualifying session showed immense growth in both riders. Ogden booked his spot right into qualifying two and placed 13th on the grid. Whatley almost made it to qualifying two, but the crowd was tight, and he qualified in 23rd position.

Sunday only means one thing, race day! Ogden had a few battles to fight, but he did his ultimate best and crossed the finish line in 22nd place. Whatley made an unfortunate mistake trying to move through the group and crashed out of the race.

The team made a lot of positive progress this weekend. Both boys are exponentially improving and learning more with every race. We look forward to the next race in 5 weeks, on our home ground in Silverstone.

Scott Ogden

“We made good progress this weekend and we had a strong pace. I tried my best in the race but we take the lessons and improve. See you in Silverstone!”

Josh Whatley

“I made some moves on the fist lap and was in the group, but crashed whilst trying to make more progress. It’s been a big step from me and the boys this weekend. We’ll continue like this at home!”
