Italian Grand Prix – Report
The Brembo Grand Prix of Italy proved to be a bittersweet round for the team. While both riders continue to improve their feeling onthe bike and recent technical changes are beginning to pay off, the race itself brought mixed fortunes.
Eddie O’Shea delivered a solid performance, setting some of the fastest laps in the early stagesand staying in close contention with the group. Unfortunately, while running in P15, he was forced to take evasive action to avoid a crash from another rider, which sent him wide into the gravel. He lost several positions and eventually crossed the line in 18th place.
For Vicente Pérez, the race ended far too quickly. He was caught up in a multi-rider crash on the first lap after being unable to avoid the rider ahead. Like Eddie, Vicente shown strong pace throughout the weekend, and we are confident he would have fought with the group if it had not been for the crash.
Eddie O’Shea: Happy to be feeling like my old self again. Let’s continue in this trajectory for Assen, next week.
Vicente Pérez: We go home with a fracture in my right hand and another in the L5 vertebra. Now it’s time to stop and recover. Many thanks to the team for their effort and hard work throughout the weekend.
Despite the setbacks, both riders demonstrated clear progress across the weekend. Vicente was able to go into Q2, while Eddie came very close.
We leave Mugello with a positive outlook and the clear intention to build on this momentum heading into Assen this weekend.
